just had a call this morning about this from a buddy who has played at vip for several years. said he got a string of e-mails overnight about canceled mlb futures wagers. i made a quick check about some things and told him to withdraw today, yesterday if he had access to a time machine.

i've only got money in the greek right now, and not that much. planning to run through baseball and that will be it. sad time for yanks in the offshore world, but until it gets better i won't be sending a penny to an on-line book.

They are paying, these guys made tons of money. They arent closing cause they are broke, but rather because they cant process deposits-withdrawals. They stopped taking new customers from the us several years ago.

Im just in a weird situation. They want to send mrs durito a check. Not a chance in hell anyone here gonna cash it.

I remember the days of VIP, BetOnGames, Gameday, Fairdealsports - and there were some more. That was pretty fabulous for a long time - until they closed the loopholes.

VIP remained good. Many people got booted but I was able to play there for many years. I did finally get hoofed though.

Interesting as most of us here are well aware of your inside knowledge of the offshore world.

I still very comfortable keeping funds at Centrebet & Ladbrokes.

I play at a few of the A+ books but usually withdraw via moneybookers as soon as possible if I increase my balance.

this is the problem with mudcats job, i knew hed be the only one here that really followed this, but i have to wait 10 hours for a damn response.

I remember very well. There were other books in the family too. WSSB I think was one. I'm trying to remember what it stood for. World Series Super Book? That's probably not right. Anyway for quite awhile you could play at all of them and get bonuses. Then, if you were so inclined, you could arb your way through your rollover. They had many arbable lines on anything from golf match-ups to MLB props. Sometimes you could arb books in that family against each other.

Which all sounds very risky in today's evironment - but they were all A books that always made their payouts.

One time they surprised me by sending me a pretty deluxe poker set. All I ever did was win money there and suddenly this gift turns up at my door.

Those were the days.

yea much of that was before my days.

i got a few good ones in with vip and nine though before they left. actually lasted a while too with my original vip account, only got shut down completely a couple years ago.

so they paid my "friend" whose id i didnt have and password i couldnt remember.

of course now i got that money stuck in a moneybookers accounts whose password i dont remember.

the lesson here is do not take your laptop out with out in a cab when you are wasted.

Careful with the moneybookers logins pal.

Use different computers/IP addresses if you are going to log in to different moneybookers accounts.

I learned this the hard way.

(Moneybookers froze the accounts - and I wasn't aware of this until I tried withdrawing funds from the moneybookers account, they will let you receive funds but not withdraw until you send in more documentation).
