It's a wicked sport. Seriously, I didn't have a bloody clue what was going on when I first moved here. Especially because the whistle means to keep playing when obv that's the opposite in a N. American sport. Used to give me headaches especially when I'd go to a match.
But it's so great. You think your team is dead/your bet is won and then suddenly there's a flurry of goals and you're in shock. There's no NFL is better or AFL is or one league is tougher. Two totally different sports and they're both awesome in their own ways but I do think the AFL is easier to win at as a bettor. I'm so happy that Ray is into it as much as he is because I know it'll give me motivation to stick with it when I leave.
