solid state drive?

my macbook air has one. i dont use it for anything but internet and the drive is already full, though its only 64gb.

I have so many. Been downloading pdfs and other scans for free. I used to buy crap at the kindle store. If I ever read all these I might be pretty smart one day.

Haha. Yeah. I prefer scans to kindle especially for math books anyway. They seem to fuck up the formatting for equations a lot when they have kindle versions...

I think I have like 2 gigs of math books and about 12 gigs of other books right now. No chance I'm reading all of it.

I think they're a waste actually. Plus, you may run out of space if you start modelling. There's nothing worse than trying to find space in the middle of project (if there's even enough to begin with). I'd just get a normal hard drive with decent capacity and back up regularly.

Yea, this laptop is driving me nuts. I download a pdf or something stupid and all of a sudden its full again. That and fucking keyboard is in spanish.

i was reading last month and saw that the computer side of HP is being sold soon...might be able to get some decent prices on laptops...the company buying them will continue to honor warranties and carry parts...business as usual

I like the mid-range HP stuff. Most important aspect of a laptop is build quality* and HP uses nice tough plastics even on the cheap-ish machines.
