so i'm sitting here a half-hour or so ago reading through moldy's, er, bread's thread about 'you live in your mommys basement,' and i look out the window to see our regular deer herd meandering in. four does, four new fawns and a couple of yearlings. the new twins are standing by the water trough, and i look up further on the hill to see if this one crippled 4-pt buck that hangs out with them sometimes might be laying back a bit.

just sort of saw a splash and the twins shoot off in different directions which causes the other two fawns to scatter. the two yearlings also seemed spooked. just figured it was a branch that fell into the trough.

so i go out to spread some corn and deer crunchies, and as i walk past the trough i see a squirrel laying in the water as dead as dead can be. looks otherwise healthy, no visible wounds, coat seems fine. got no clue what happened the little tree rat, but sure as hell never seen one just drop from a tree like that.

The squirrel died because that was the last quality writing Bread did.

Damn Bee I get so excited about our little gay backyard when a few birds and squirrels stop by. We almost shit the time a possum fight broke out right in front of us and even better when a raccoon visted once.

What I'm saying is, I'm way jealous of your deer feeding yard. Man that would be so awesome. I'm truly envious.

Sad for the dead little fella, but hell, at least my brilliance was involved somehow.
