so my buddy who is in AA, started drinking on the 4th and a bunch of shit went down. His wife is half way out the door.

So I made a bet who could stop drinking longer me or him. This guy really shouldn't drink, and he is a complete shitshow when he does, so I was hopping I this bet would get him to start with AA and recommit himself.

The problem is I really want to drink, I felt like a pussy when I ordered a root beer in the bar last night.

But I want to help my friend, and if I drink I owe him $500 and if he starts up which he most likely will, I get his surfboard.

so should I help a buddy or just get drunk

Its a laudable goal. Sometimes I feel the need to sober up but it only lasts a week or two. I get so much more done and feel better about myself. Just try to go as long as you can and let it run its course. Good luck!
