Spent an hour on phone with insurance company rep who could not figure out why in the world they were applying my med to a deductible and not the normal co pay. She looked everywhere and said either my plan changed or else they had my benefits loaded incorrectly but either way, something isn't right. Hopefully she gets back to me today (she said she would once she concluded her investigation) and this is a mistake so I can get my $750 back.

My accountant still has not called me back to explain why I have copies of my 2008 and 2009 returns and the IRS doesn't. There was no communication with me about a substitute return so would have gone to her. She is in Denver and for all I know may no longer be working. She was fairly old.

I hate spending time on this crap when someone else has screwed up. I should start billing for my time...and the $17 I had to pay to have 10 years worth of taxes sent to me priority mail. I forget her hourly rate, but this is messed up.

I woke up today determined to view something I had not seen before. I watched my first episode of the Walking Dead? S1E01. Dam it starts off the same ways as 40 days later or whatever that British movie was where he wakes up in a hospital bed safe and sound.

How are major cities still standing? Tanks everywhere but not that much damage? Bombs must have gone inert in this world. Will continue because people love this show.

Also one of my kryptonite teams did it to me again. Clemson NCAAM, Phoenix Suns, and the NY Mets I can rarely get it right with these.....

Yes. I asked them about that and they said the one I got was $15 (which I assumed was a copay price) but she said that the ins co paid nothing toward it and that that price was an adjusted insurance price. It just happened to be the same amount as the copay price so I didn't think about it at the time.

I found copies of all my paperwork and it is the exact same plan as last year so there should be no question. I don't know what happened, but something is wrong. You know, you take for granted that people know what they are doing and things are "right" especially when it comes to matters where money is involved. Some less intelligent persons, or with less knowledge of insurance may have just accepted the pharmacy explanation.

I remember years ago I found out that once you met your annual deductible that you no longer had to make your co pays. I thought you always paid your co pays and that maybe they applied to your out of pocket limit but not deductible. I had about 5 different providers take and keep my copays even after receiving notification from insurance that they were overpaid. I had ONE provider send me the money back which prompted my inquiry to the others. I recouped about $1200...over $800 from one physical therapy office I think. One office had the nerve to tell me they don't automatically send patient's money back unless they ask. WTH?

I am glad in the chucking frenzie I held onto all my insurance information in paper format. I don't put it past these guys to change info that is accessible on line.

One of my brothers is coming to stay with her. Of course I have told her about 30 times and each time she says "A MAN???? How is a MAN going to take care of me? "

I say "It's not just a man mom, it's your SON." She says. . "gee whiz. A MAN." It is going to be horrifying that not only am I not here, but she is alone in the house with a "MAN." She freaked out once when I WAS here and came in my room and asked me who the MAN in the family room was (It was my brother who had gotten up earlier than me)

Alz people can really flip when there is a disturbance in their normal routine/schedule and I worry that when I get back she will have taken a giant turn for the worse due to the stress of this. I told my brother to just constantly tell her who he is and where I am as she will forget after literally a minute.

So today I finally got my trial for where I had to sue my former employer for the month's salary she owed me. And she didn't show. Just did not show up. So yay I got a default judgment. But yeah, that really won't be worth the paper its printed on. PLUS...found out over the past year she didn't pay in the state taxes that she with held from me. And for some reason the state of AL seems to think that it is up to me to pay that money. Told me that the W2 she gave me (and turned in to both them and the IRS) was worthless. WTH???? It has her tax ID on it. And I have no snow.

Nina. Do you know where she banks? Does she own property? I collected on default judgments for almost 20 years. I can try to help you find a way to collect it. This is my area of expertise. State laws will differ, but all are pretty similar.

p.s That is messed up...rant on!!! Especially the state tax stuff.

IAG...I know she has bank accounts but not sure where any more. Had to open new ones after her old ones were closed due to that whole negative balance for months thing. I also believe that her parents have signed over their property to her and her sister. Would I still be able to put a lien on the property if it is in both names? And would ANY bank account that her name is on be fair game for garnishment? The DA's office gave me the phone number for the state tax investigation branch and told me to call and have them open an investigation for tax fraud. I hope she isn't fond of that law license of hers....

Guess what after MrsM got her private areas checked out! You no longer get a Pap Smear exam every year paid for by the insurance co! If you check out OK, you can get one again 3 years down the road! If at 65 you check out OK, you can't get another one unless you pay for it yourself! If this info is wrong, MrsM wasn't paying attention!

In most states yes you can put a lien on any property or account which has her name on it. We used to get calls from irate people who shared bank accounts with the debtor after wiping out their account. There are a list of exemptions...i.e., if they show that the balance is all from social security etc but the money will be held until a hearing to determine.

The lien is easy to do (at least in Colorado)...You have to get a Transcript of the Judgment and file it with the clerk and recorder's office in the county where the property is located. Usually it will attach to the name and not a specific property so any real property owned by her in the county in which you file it would be covered. The T of J will cost you ...I think last I knew about $25...filing the lien was about $10...but court costs have gone up...and again it's a state thing.

You can also have her served with interrogatories that she has to fill out under oath with all her asset information. Pretty useless except to the get the bank information and usually it just gives the defendant a chance to clean out their account as they are given a heads up to the intent to collect on the judgment. If she doesn't fill them out you can get a bench warrant (again ...going by Colorado laws) I can do a quick scan of Alabama statutes if you want.

Wait she's a lawyer? Have you filed a complaint with the bar?
 
with her doing indigent work for the State I am sure there is a way I can garnish through the Comptroller's Office. At least I think I should be able to. She has to file for payment from the State within a specific period of time after the case is completed.

Since I have an individual policy, they would have had to have notified me of any change, but I have a copy of both policies (this year and last year and they are exactly the same and that was verified with the rep)

I have heard that they now that AMA recommend paps only every 2-3 years but didn't know that affected the insurance coverage also. That's insane. A lot can change in 2 years. I wonder what out of pocket price for one is.
 
IAG, getting back on course, must have had you on my mind Sunday and I believe I prematurely ejaculated my rant yesterday! Sorry my dear! Story of my life, when having sex am I the only one who thinks 1 out 2 people being satisfied is batting .500? :dunno:
