I bought a bag of Hickory sticks yesterday and it had the Hostess logo on it.

Speaking of foods, my mother has lived in France for about 5, going on 6 years now. She makes American food for her friends all the time, she said the one thing they loved the most:
Pancakes!
They thought they were just the greatest thing!

It always amuses me to hear how they react to american food, things we don't find that special or different, or of lesser quality, they are crazy about!

:clueless: Pancakes are the most common street food in Paris. I'm guessing that your Mom's pancakes are different.

Now peanut butter, bring them a jar of it and they'll think you're an alien.

idk. Just regualr pancake, like we eat for breakfast, with syrup and whatnot.
Yeah I hear you can't find peanut butter like anywhere.
I think she managed to find like one little store that sells some american products, but not much.

That's because they are used to eating crepes which are rolled pancakes. Seeing an open crepe (pancake) is a hugh excitement for French people.

I'm seeing Wonder Bread in that pic I posted. I didn't know that was a Hostess product. I would have guessed people would lament Wonder Bread at least as much as Twinkies. I would have guessed it was equal in terms of really crappy ongoing traditions which have worked their way into people's consciousness through insipid advertising.

Man I would be heartbroken if these went away. I doubt they will as you can get these in Canada. I wish Lays (Hostess) made the old style BBQ chips. They have old fashioned ones which are very, very close to the old ones, but not exactly bang on.

We have those in the vending machine at work. Premium 3pm snack.

Thank God they're not going anywhere.

I'm with you Matty. No company could ever come close to duplicating the real deal hickory sticks. Costco sells some. Same with Humpty Dumpty. Hostess Hickory Sticks are the bomb. It's like Kraft Diner. No company could ever come close to duplicating one of the best and quickest meals out there. I still eat this stuff. Love it actually. Maybe Wally will buy me a box if he ever wins the lottery.
