Hey what's up ladies and gents. As per my conversation with Archie I will be moving my blog to out here in the forum for ease of access to the readers it interests. Input is always appreciated, and thanks for reading

Hey what's going on guys, welcome to my poker blog. I've been playing a lot of casino poker lately and have decided to start blogging about sessions for my own record keeping and in case anyone is interested. I play a pretty standard tight aggressive game and right now I'm playing 1/2. I only play cash.

We sit in pretty good shape today. I'm going to cash nicely in the hours promotion which is very cool. So far today I'm up $167 in a few hours on pretty standard plays, the big one was flopping a set of 3s and cracking my opponent's aces. Queens held on a relatively harmless board for another nice one. The action was pretty dead at the first table so I moved, and since then I've been running good, there's some decent action on this one. Opponent selection is essential, imo.

Let's play some fuckin cards.

Finished +$178 yesterday a big river I'm not proud of helped and then made a nice call with jacks with 2 queens and a king on the board. Normally not into hero calls but he was tilting so hard. Today's session is off to a good start, caught a couple sets and up $141 but it's early.

Yesterday finished very well, $508 in the green. I caught boat after boat. Learned a very powerful lesson - I was dealt pocket 6s and flopped quads. There was a nice promotion happening which was a $200 jackpot for the highest hand every half hour. What ended up happening is an opponent gave me just a little action but the hand ended up ending in one high hand period in which I was already under the high hand, but if I stretched the hand out about 40 seconds longer it would have been in the new period and it would have held. Basically I fucked myself out of $200 by not being aware of both of those things so two lessons learned - when playing high hand promos always know exactly what time it is and what the current high hand is. That being said a few nice pots and a big three way pot on pocket 7s boating up eased the pain of screwing that up, that's my best session since I started playing in casinos.

Today's off to a great start too, up +$385 in about 5 hours. I mainly came over to my normal spot to pick up the prize money for hours played last week. They aren't running that promo this week so I figured I'd pick it up and slide over to another spot that is, but I found myself in what I see as a very favorable playing situation so for now I'm going to ride it out, I still might hit the second spot but I don't know, this is pretty good and their hours promotion started Sunday which leaves me 2.5 hours behind going in, I figured I can grind out $300 from their promo if I grind long days until Sunday but this situation looks to likely be worth more than that.

I'll get back to it, run good all

Another beauty day yesterday. Finished +$608 at the first spot as I was able to capitalize on the favorable playing situation at that table (meaning I had two maniacs at that table, one loose aggressive and one loose passive). Felted the LAG player and just about did the same to the LPA one. Then slid over to the second place, sat at their 1/3 for awhile because there 1/2 players have to pay for drinks and 1/3 don't (lol). The difference in the quality of play at their 1/3 was very noticeable, at that table at least. No one with blatant holes in their game, a mix of styles all very solid. The buy in at 1/3 is $500 as opposed to $300 at 1/2. I finished up exactly $1 at that game as my queens held and my set of 2s got flushed out. Then moved down to their 1/2 for more break even poker to finish the day up $629 as a whole, so another record day all in all.The second spot is very slow but will be there all week angle shooting their hours promo. I miss my main spot! Gotta hit the promos while they're there though. Will head up there soon. BOL readers on all of your endeavors today

Crazy, crazy day yesterday at the 1/3. I was on my 3rd buy in (which means I was down $1k ). A couple plays I'm not sure about...on one there were 5 players called into a $25 raise on a table where the action was crazy. Knowing a LAG player that I'm not putting on KK or AA raised it I raised it up to $100 with AK off on a semibluff/steal move and I decide I'm going to represent AA the whole play. I get two callers, one a standard decent player and the other a great LAG player who was raising every pot preflop and dominating the entire table for hours. The flop comes 238 with 2 hearts (I had no hearts) and I c-bet another $100. The decent player folds and LAG shoves all in and I've got a little over $300 in front of me with air and overs, with $200 invested. For me it's an easy fold and he told me he had top set, I do believe him since another player that said he would have flopped a set was told by him that I saved him $600 (meaning he would have felted him with top set). On another against the same LAG player I had AhKh and I don't remember the preflop action, something like $50 apiece. The flop comes with two hearts and there's 3 of us in it. Decent player with something like $300 raises to $150 then the same LAG player raises it up to $300 so I find myself last to act, I'm 90% sure if I push both are calling so to me it's about 3 to 1 on about a 45% shot, right? Theoretically it's a +ev move by 15% in my opinion. So I do push, the decent player actually folds eliminating some of my odds and LAG instacalls. I miss and he flips that he flopped a dirty nut straight. I do agree with both of my aggressive plays theoretically over the long term (especially the second one, the only question about that one imo is there wasn't any fold equity there) but I'm not rich, I'm trying to build up my roll so racing despite being a slight favorite is a bad idea for me. Therefore I'm going to calm down on those plays.

All that being said the table changed a lot after that and became a more favorable playing situation, I caught a river I'm not proud of (though I did get it in before the turn with the nut draw so it's not that bad imo) then I played very solid poker on a table that was filled with action all night, caught a couple sets against a decent hyper LAG player that paid big then caught Aces over Jacks for another good one. All in all finished up $309 after being down over 1k so very gratifying to come back like that.

Going to chill on the races, pick my spots and see if I can beat 1/3 on a consistant basis as it feels like the right game for me, but mistakes are extremely costly and are not acceptable.

Going to get into it in a bit, run goot in all of your endeavors today all

Peace.

Good morning, all.

Another solid day at spot #2, up $330. Actually got very lucky on a $600 pot, called a $20 raise preflop with pocket 7's. The flop came 678 and someone raised $15 then another player with about $300 in front of him raised to $35. I really thought about the play and decided on the preflop action I had to put him on lower than a set, so I made an isolation bet of $100 hoping he had an overpair, 2 pair etc. It turns out he had the baby end of the straight with 45 off so he had me crushed. I managed to turn the 7 for quads to take down the pot, very lucky.

Did I make the right play? I still think I did, but with that many callers and the result I'm not completely sure, it's a thinker.

Not many other opportunities for profit in that session as that was the only set I flopped and the rest was pretty break even against no blatantly LAG or LAP players, there was one guy to my right for awhile that shifted to LAG but he was extremely good and I didn't get the cards to get into any big pots with him.

Still to make more than my daily goal of $200 on a session I'd call not very eventful and that in which I couldn't catch big hands? I'll take it.

I've enjoyed my time at spot #2 and will be finishing out my time there today and tomorrow. I will be back after that but not sure when, they're not running the hours promo (in which I am still on track to cash $300 in) after this so I am going to look around for a place that is. Everyone is nice there, the food is good and thanks to them I have discovered that 1/3 is really where I should be playing, so very cool.

They also have horse racing which is nice if one should be inclined for a breather, I don't really play but I used to a long time ago - I might splash a little for fun.

Here's a picture of their track, beautiful setting -

The grind continues here in about an hour.

Best of luck in all of your endeavors today and thanks for reading

Peace.

Up $250 yesterday, it was a slow bleed all day until a table of mostly drunks in the wee hours of The morning. I made a couple plays on them to set up a LAG table image then I flopped a set of 2s and a player with top pair shoved on them to put me up for the session. Captain Obvious says that 10 pm - 3 am is a great time to play poker if you like action from drunks which I most certainly do, sometimes I have to make sure I'm not the drunk :). Today's going well so far as my set of tens was good over a good player's set of set of 7s for a $600 pot.

Bol all

6.5.16

Concluded my last day of the week at spot #2 at +$341, very cool. Mostly happy with my play except one big hand that I majorly lucked out on on a table image play gone wrong then saved, I won't go into detail but to sum it up note to self: only ONE c-bet on table image plays from here on out! How many times do we have to say this to ourselves before it sinks in? Anyway.

The week at spot #2 ended up being a very successful one, exceeding expectations in every way. Expectations were $300 from the hours promotion and $500 from gameplay, instead we ended up (because of yesterday's marathon session from 11:40 to 10 am this morning ) with $500 from hours and $1,251 from gameplay so a total of $1,751 in 5 days . We also discovered a great spot to play, the service is outstanding in every way and the crowd that plays there is very chill and fun to play with. They do lack the action that some other places can offer on a consistent basis but the atmosphere makes the trip out worth it. We also discovered that for now we should be playing 1/3 as opposed to 1/2, which is priceless. I will be keeping an eye on their promotions and will keep them in the rotation. Placing in their hours competition also entered us in a drawing on June 11 that could lead to more money.

Today we head out to spot #3, which supposedly offers the best action of any of the spots we have gone to. They offer $250 high hands tonight from 4-12 and all high hand winners get entered into a nice drawing with a possibility of winning much more.

Should be fun.

BOL everyone.

6.6.16

After catching up on some desperately needed Z's yesterday I made it out to spot #3 for their hours promo. It was a lot of fun but the 1/3 table I was at (I believe there were two running during the promo) seemed to have just about all high level players with a few donks coming and going. I was down about a couple hundred there then came back on a whacky board that worked out for me to pull back to about even. Soon after this the table broke up so we all had a choice - move down to the 1/2 (which I can't really feel anymore, I need to play 1/3 or higher) so I moved up to 2/5 ($1k max).

The first hand was very interesting there. I was dealt pocket jacks and the board came with all under cards and two clubs. A guy I have labeled as a total tight aggressive shark and a fucking awesome player raised $150. I think tanked it for a bit and shoved all in with about $700. Total donk move as he could easily have AA, KK or even QQ but that's just thing - I wanted them to label me as a donk despite the result. After further thinking about that concept maybe $1500 table hands are just a little risky and unnecessary :lmao:

He think tanks it and gives me a long talk, coming to the conclusion that I flopped a set, he folds and tells me he had top pair with the clubs (puppyfeet). I don't show but I tell the table I have jacks and a guy who played at the prior table tells me he knows that's not true, as we had just played for hours and I was more or less very tight aggro. Either way it worked out and things continued to go well for me there, I got bullets twice for a couple decent pots and not that much else really happened. I finished up $422 all in all.

I have some thinking to do about where to play this week and when as the hours promos have lapsed. Definitely joining a gym today as the long hours have been taking their toll on me and I do feel quite drained, which is not what you want heading into sessions. Going to do some shopping (the charger port broke on my phone and I NEED my phone/music at the tables) and grab a haircut then pick my prize money from a spot, will likely play there for awhile then hop to another spot for a high hand promo. They're pretty far away from each other and the traffic gets nasty, so we'll see how things are going.

BOL today everyone, be safe and enjoy yourselves.

Unless you're an asshole, then please don't be safe and definitely don't enjoy yourself

:lmao:

You know it's funny Muddster I was debating if I should play today, I'm soooooo tired and burnt out and that extremely dangerous play with the jacks tells me it might just be break time. Based on that in the thread title I might just do a lot of other things, play with my upcoming new phone :pope: and take a day off. Thanks for pointing that out.

Rogie please fix that when you get a chance if that's cool.

So this is what I was missing! I was out to lunch I guess! I'm technology wise challenged! I'm not going to survive well in old age!

And Brother B, good luck on the tables!
