Guy seemed like just an all-around nice guy who really enjoyed coaching kids! Had health issues for quite awhile now and put the Utah Utes in the CBB spotlight! Kato probably has some fond memories of the guy! Love the sweater hanging idea!

University of Utah officials will honor the legacy of Rick Majerus by hanging a replica of his trademark white sweater from the rafters at the basketball arena where he coached from 1989 to 2004 and regularly led the Utes to the NCAA tournament.

A moment of silence will be held at Utah's next game Wednesday and players will wear black patches in honor of a man Utah athletic director Chris Hill remembered as a "basketball savant.' Majerus died Saturday in Los Angeles while awaiting a heart transplant. He was 64.

Here's one of his many quotes: I'm guessing the question on trying to beat UNLV at their place ...........

"It's never easy to win in Las Vegas. I should know with all the money I've lost at the blackjack tables."

Oh MAN I remember 1998 when Lute Olsen's Arizona Wildcats came into the dance as favorites and had their hearts ripped our by Rick's Triangle and Two! Always respected him as a genius since! RIP big guy, one of the more enthusiastic sports figures we'll ever see. Fok. Fok.

To Jay Bilas, wearing a polo shirt rather than the traditional Hawaiian shirt while covering a tournament in Hawaii...

"Jay, only a guy who gets out of the shower to take a piss would wear a shirt like that."

LOL!

How good a player were you at Marquette?...

"In the late 1990s with Utah, we were in a regional, and coach [Al] McGuire was there and I asked him to talk to my team. He talked to them and then asked for any questions. Someone said to him, "How good was coach as a player?'' He said, "Let me explain something to you, 'We had an Indian mascot named Willie Wampum when coach played. I would have put the mascot before I put coach in the game."
