Yeah know, but there are numerous reasons we can't do that.

1. Our landlords are dicks and would likely throw a fit.

2. It would leave a rather big mess on our deck. The ice is literally right in front of our front door.

3. The neighborhood is rampant with stray cats, some of which people abandoned, they already stalk our house as is, don't want to risk inviting them to take a shit on our porch.

although I am seriously starting to consider it despite all of that.

I know, I've been on him about it....you can't tell that boy nothin. He's as stubborn as they come.

All I can do is encourage him to keep hydrated and be it that I do most, if not all the food prep, I have been keeping an eye on the sodium and cholesterol intake.

You know, I know salt IS sodium, but I never thought before to look at serving recommendation and how much sodium is actually in it. It A LOT.

Yeah Cami I don't know if I would really do the kitty litter. It sounds like Nina had tried it. I only did cuz Lori mentioned it on the way out the door yesterday and it was a lot cheaper than the salt...I have no idea what kind of mess it will leave...hoping it blows away in time. If it is a big one, she can clean it up lol .....probably best to stick with salt if you can.

Dude, EVERYWHERE around here has been sold out of salt for weeks.
Only other option is to order online, which I might have to do, I was hoping it might melt away with all this sunny, warmer weather, but no dice.

no never tried it. I would have to have ice first. I did get some with my little snow almost 2 weeks ago but it was gone within 24 hours. We are suffering from the harsh winter temps in the 60's I'm afraid.

It has been colder this winter than normal. I don't have any flowers blooming yet and usually I do by the end of January. Better?
