I buy these frozen pasta dishes - I always have a supply of them in my freezer - and the instructions are always to open a corner and nuke them for 3 minutes or whatever. Then you are supposed to take the lid off and stir the pasta and sauce separately, then you put the lid back on and nuke them for a final ~1.5 minutes.

But here's the thing: though the instructions explicitly say to stir the pasta and sauce separately at that midpoint, I just mix the hell out of everything. Mix it all together.

Yeah that's right - I do that.
 
i mix a box of rice a roni wild grain rice with herbs with 1 cup of brown rice... 3 cups of water... but i dont simmer it, i cook it slightly hotter than a simmer and the rice comes out with a better texture...not mushy...and the wild has a nice cooked crunchy feel to it...

When making rice, I never use the suggested portions. 1/2 cup rice and 1 1/3 cups of water makes for awful rice. That's way too much liquid. I find less than a cup of water works best. FYI is this brown rice.

Yes! The instructions always call for too much water. I blame the lawyers. Someone probably sues for a chipped tooth on the occasionally over-dry piece of rice, so they instruct us to make this soggy shit to cover their asses.
 
Where I work for the first 2.5 hours of the day, there is country music playing on the radio. I noticed a new song yesterday - Honky Tonk Badonkadonk. It's about hot booty at the rowdy country music bar.

Pretty bad song unfortunately but clever premise/rhyme IMO.

. I heard that song a few days ago too....hadn't for a while..that's the only part I remember.
