Been following this thread. Not that it matters, but I have an old Gibson SB bass. I believe it was made in the late 60's and is in great shape. I often wondered how much the thing is worth. Was planning on giving it to one of my boys when they get older, but if it's worth money I'd also sell it.

Just reading this now Pukky.

I would need more details and high-res pictures to confirm that it is what it is. To be honest I'm only interested in flipping it - I obviously can't play it because of my innate left-handedness.

I have extensive experience buying and selling electric guitars and have a seller eBay account with 100% feedback and a very fortunate name (rainville_guitars), I'll be happy to list it for him and we can split the proceeds as I mentioned earlier (I keep 60% of anything over $2k - again assuming that it is what I think it is). He would only need to ship the guitar to the winning bidder after I send him the money.

You can send him my email if he wants to discuss and/or send pics - mrainville at gmail dot com

If the guitar sells for $3k I end up making 20% of the sale price, which is the typical consignment rate at a store. Anything under $3k and I make less. You won't get that kinda deal anywhere else. :promotingprofessionalism:

(Plus I'll market the shit out of it, whereas a store will leave it on a rack and wait for a walk-in to take the bait. Could take a year or two before it sells. I can probably get $3k for it in a week or two.)

There's a lefty on eBay right now, thing is a beauty: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2010-GIBSON-...20018837?pt=Guitar&hash=item3f20032d95&_uhb=1

So I take it you sold the guitar and completed the deal??

I got an email thanking me for setting up the connection but when I asked about details I got the vaguest response which was totally insufficient to my level of nosiness.

Yeah, Ima buy it off him this weekend and flip it.

I listed it on kijiji with the pics he gave me and I've already got offers for it. I'll take better pics once it's in my possession, should help me extract maximum dollorz out of it. I won't get as much as I thought but should still make out nicely.
