That is absolutely INSANE. I honestly can't believe this, but I'll take your word for it.

OK so if I was a Yank in your part of town and I wanted to rip out a few bedrooms in my own home would I be allowed to do whatever I want or does this only apply to rental properties that I would own?
applies to all real estate.
home owners used to be able to opt out by signing some contract stating they understand the dangers but I believe the EPA has reversed that ( not positive though)
honestly dont know if there are fines for HOs doing their own work or not.
I read enough about contractors and all the shit they are liable for and I decided I wasnt going to look further into it.
not worth the time or money for me

Teela, is the North Historic district area good to stay at? Peanut will be coming with us and the Olde Harbor Inn seems to be a good place by River St?

Plenty of little parks round there it seems from the map! What's the area not to walk around at night in town? Know of any good pet friendly eateries in town?

Mr. M, you better let me know when you're coming to town!

I haven't heard much about Olde Harbour Inn, but it looks nice. There are lots of pet friendly eateries in town. Most places have outside eating so that you can dine with Peanut. Any of the streets in the 30's are ones that you would avoid at night. It really depends on the season with avoiding streets. The spring and summer aren't too bad because there are more tourists, which means more police presence. There are usually more cars being broken into than street robberies. If you stay in the "tourist" areas during the evenings, you'll be fine. I wouldn't hang out late in Forsyth Park unless there's an event going on. That's where the homeless folks sleep at night and it's recommended that you steer clear of it late. Just don't go too far west at night (past MLK Blvd). I have a link of dog-friendly eateries that I'll see if I can dig up for you...

I HIGHLY recommend going to the Clary's Cafe on Abercorn (NOT Habersham). It was in Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil. Awesome tourist spot and good breakfasts. Firefly Cafe is my FAVORITE (and dog friendly!) breakfast spot. My bf loves the Habersham Hash and I think they have the best biscuits in town.

Slow typer and just saw this! TY Teela!

go to that fat white haired lady's place too!

aww that ruins execution of the joke though! I have two friends that always laugh mid story before the punch line.

hughly... I'm awful at that. If I can actually remember a funny joke or story - I know like 10 ever - I piss myself as soon as I start telling it. I'm truly the easiest laugh ever. Even when I know how the story ends.
