It's not down. They are using a service called Cloudflare that mitigates dos attacks and filters legit connections from attack connections. The internet name servers don't update instantaneously, it works by regions from companies that service their own part of the country/world. In a while it will reach every region and people will be back enjoying their points. Here is an excellent article how that service works and how the internet as whole works from a big incident that happened earlier this year in Europe.
