Sorry about the hideous. I honestly think it would look perfectly fine in a basement, and you shouldn't pass up such a no hassle-deal.

Hahaha Mr X. I was just thinking of Cami's comment and decided if anything I should turn the non used upstairs bedroom into an office so as to make the best use of it.

That way I wouldn't have to haul it back up and out when it was replaced, and I would use it much more I think. That's really the only way it makes sense the more I think about it.
I really don't need THAT much desk, but the others I have seen in the same price range truly ARE hideous.

It would be in a corner and not visible from the hallway though...even though I still don't think it's terrible looking. If it were a darker wood, I would like it a lot minus the cheesy plastic cd brackets that I will remove.


Thanks for your input guys. More opinion than I expected. I think I will trust that I can get my money back out of it-or most of it anyway, and go for it.

He offered to move it for $75 Reno..and he wasn't THAT old. Not exactly pure altruism. I wasn't dicking him around in any way. I looked at it, told him that I would let him know in a couple hours and I did. He was going to hold it for me for a day and I told him I didn't expect that at all. I'm going to pay him tomorrow morning and he will bring it when I get the room ready for it.

Turns out the guy taught at same junior high as a good family friend who taught science there. He was very good friends with the guy, as were my parents. Small world.


I'll do a desk video when all ready to go.
