I was reading about these places in "all things d" today. These online marketplaces starting up like Coffee and Power http://www.coffeeandpower.com/#map_center_lat=37.548016&map_center_long=-97.383298&map_zoom=4
and Zaarly http://www.zaarly.com/browse/4eab52c7eea41a407a000103 provide people who will do services for you that you dont have time for like do your shopping, be your designated driver, listen to your ideas without putting you down, sew or put together christmas toys, ship things from foreign countries, paint your garden gnome, etc.
Companies like Airbnb http://www.airbnb.com/info/how_it_works let you rent out rooms in your house or find rooms around the country. These sites sseem like a good idea, to give more personalized web sites directed at people who are looking for this stuff, craigs list seems to be the same people over and over who provide services and just another form of advertising for some companies.
These companies are just new start ups right now it seems but it would be a great idea, coffee and power has a coffee shop in san francisco where you can meet the people providing you the services like baking for you ,etc. I thought this would be great if you could get a girl who could sew, provide some basic maid services( Molly maid doesnt have sexy uniforms
).etc. There is nothing like a home cooked meal from a womans hand, this would really be a true "girlfriend experience". An american version of hostess clubs but alot more than paid flirting and karaoke
This is sort of like fiverr http://fiverr.com/ where you can get people to do menial tasks for you for 5 bucks like make phone calls or dress up and dance for your amusement.
