I was living in Peoria in winter of 1999. Temperature hit -20 F. Scariest day of my life. My car wouldn't start cause the gas froze and my ears almost froze trying to "walk" to work for 5 miles. I gave up after 1/2 mile and called work and told them I don't want to freeze to death trying to make it to the office.

That's strange Saulty. I'm wondering if you Yanks or the Yanks in Peoria have a different grade of gas. Gas would not normally freeze at those temperatures in Canada. I'm wondering if they treat the gas in Canada. I have heard of gas lines freezing, but it really is rare.

I had an old car back then. First year out of college. It was parked outside the whole night. The guy at the parts store said I should have poured something in my gas tank the night before.

In Hokkaido island in northern Japan, a man and his 9 year old daughter got caught in a blizzard on their way to a friend's house on Saturday night, the truck was found completely covered on Sunday. The man was found dead on top of his daughter hugging her, the girl is expected to live.

Wow. What a dignified way to die.
