Ty RJ for moving/resurrecting... helping me Hi-Jack this NHL PLAYS thread. Tully has a much better way of saying things than I do, I will just quietly post some of my NHL plays for everyone here for the time being.
I am looking over the schedule tonight in NHL and I haven't made any moves yet. I will post at least one pick later...
On an un-related yet still topical note. I wonder what TULLY thinks about the Nuclear problem in Japan?
How can you not like the Washington Capitals tonight vs New York Islanders?
The Caps are currently -106 as a tiny road favourite and they are going to New York to face a dismal Islanders team who is starting their OTHER rookie (3rd string) goaltender tonight. I know it is common for teams to bounce back after a sound beating but I still feel that the Islanders have some more losing to do here tonight after taking a 5-0 beating from Detroit last night. I don't know about anyone else but this is the best spot to get my money in I have seen so far today in the NHL.
BUF@NJD; NJ -1,-1.5 (depending on availability and confidence in me...maybe 50-50% each?)
New Jersey is coming off of a 5-2 win last night on the road vs Carolina and Buffalo beat the Leafs 3-2 in a high energy overtime affair at home. I feel that the Sabres get beaten very soundly tonight by a better team.
Buffalo has only won 6 games so far this year (two against the Leafs) and have only won back to back once this season.
The Devils are starting Cory Schneider (he only faced 18 shots last night) and it looks like the Sabres will be starting Joseph Enroth.
I think the Sabres will be exhausted after their game last night as it is usually an emotional affair vs Toronto.I feel after their big overtime win they come crashing back to earth against a Devils team which has the better fundamentals and a huge goaltending advantage.
What the fuck happened in the Washington game? I thought I'd lost as the NHL ticker was taking forever to update... Can't believe they pulled it out there...
