MONTREAL—Danny Briere is leaving his new home in the Philadelphia area for his native Quebec.

"The Montreal Canadiens have announced that the team has agreed to terms on a two-year deal with Briere.
The 35-year-old forward was bought out by the Philadelphia Flyers last week.
He had reportedly narrowed his list of potential destinations to the Canadiens, New Jersey Devils and Nashville Predators.
Briere, a native of Gatineau, Que., has 282 goals and 373 assists in 847 career NHL games."

Plommer is thrilled! Habs get smaller, softer and older with this acquisition.

No shit bacon. I don't hate this move 'cause it seems to announce another trade (we have too many C's now). We might move Desharnais or Plekanec for a bigger winger. Hopefully. :dunno:

Bienvenue Daniel! Don't fok it up pal.

Apparently the Sens offered Alfie a blank cheque, but he's decided to move on. Strange. There was either a falling out or he truely believes that the team has no chance of a cup in the next season or couple seasons.
