No I'm not Blitty. Look at the video. He doesn't direct his knee into his head. it's just a case of bad timing.

I think it was more a case of perfect timing for Neal to pretend to be oblivious and not alter his course so that he could hit him. Yes he was already skating in that trajectory and Marchand was right in his line

even if he didn't "direct" his knee and the "bad timing" was perfect.

he made zero attempt to avoid hitting him in the head with his knee. Not even a flinch. At his level of skating he could have made a last millisecond attempt to minimize contact. But he skated like a statute totally oblivious.

the fact that he didn't even flinch in an attempt to move, nor was surprised after the contact, tells me that he deliberately held his course or altered even slightly to maximize the angle at which he hit him.

I know what you are saying Arch. I really do. It's a fast game, but shit happens. I honestly don';t think Steckel intended to hit Crosby that's for damn sure. Neal on Marchand. I don;t think he intended to hit him at all, but yeah maybe he could have put the brakes on , but like I said it's a fast game.

yeah I would agree about the fast part, and the fact that when we have the benefit of watching things in super slow mo 10x in a row it makes it easer for joe schmo to form an opinion that isn't based upon actually being a player or understanding the speed of the game.

I mean I've skated like 20x in my life and can't skate backwards, so who I am to say what these fucks can or can't do at that speed. I trust the real life hockey knowledge of guys like you, Reno, Blitty, and Wally in these situations.

Wally and Blitty???

Would posters consider this dirty now or then?

I've always been convinced 100% clean he just cleaned his fokkin clock.

that was 100% totally clean. Lindross always did cross the blue line with his head down. Always. He actually skated with his head down a lot. It was a horrible habit that wasn't corrected when he was a child, because Bonnie and Carl didn't feel there was a need to correct it based on his size and the fact that he just steamrolled through players when he was a kid. Karma right there.

its ok, the guy is skating with the puck. My issue is not with that, players have to keep their head up. Of course its tough to enter the zone against the trap and keep your head up and make a play. I mean he had to go around 2 guys and third one hit him.

So yeah, nhl has problems with the current rules. Players might have to sacrifice creative play for safety, and thats gonna make nhl unwatchable. Or make hitting illegal :dunno:
