It's a thing called Leagues Cup Showcase, not really a friendly not really official

the Leagues Cup got played a few years back before Covid and then a limited run last year

it's a mini tournament between Mex and Usa teams

It will come back next year in an expanded tournament format that will include all Mex and MLS teams

So that match was a "showcase" match for next year's tournament, what's a showcase match? a better market term for friendly match
