How could anyone be saddened by someone like Casper? If he were a person who was lost and searching for an identity and just made a few mistakes along the way then ok, maybe I could see it then. If he suffered from a diminished understanding of right and wrong then again maybe some sadness but neither appear to be the case.

Casper has displayed an eagerness to get ahead without consequences for failing. No-one need to feel sorry for or saddened by Casper. Just buy your ticket, get comfortable and enjoy the carnage.
