xp most of the local stations are owned by the same group, they literally use the same footage and scripts to cut cost across different tv markets, and even if they aren't owned by the same company there are syndication and content sharing deals among station companies

another trick they do to save money is to produce 30 minutes of content and repeat it over and over within a new live presentation including on location shots, in say a 2 or 3 hours continuous news block
local journalism is dying and cities will suffer from unexposed corruption, people know more of what's going on around the nation and around the world then they know what's going on around their town
