Did you know that the Arlington Million (the world's first million dollar horse race) was held at Woodbine for a one year? The race was held in Toronto because there was a hugh fire at Arlington Park the previous year. As an act of friendship, Arlington Park gave Woodbine a bronze statue of John Henry. John Henry was the first winner of the Arlington Million and he won it again three years later. The statue can be seen at the Turf Lounge, Woodbine's off track wagering parlour in the financial district. It's a really nice statue.
