Lets say it is the best Elton John song for people who mostly don't like Elton John. It is a very a 80's type of tune with nice light melody and flavor, and only a hint of the emotional burden that accompanies all his other stuff.

15 EJ songs better....cmon

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
Daniel
Bennie and the Jets
Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me
Rocket man
Funeral for a Friend
Your Song
Candle in the Wind
Tiny Dancer
Mona Lisa and the Mad Hatters
Crocodile Rock
Philadelphia Freedom
Someone Saved My Life Tonight
Elderberry Wine
Levon
Madman Across the Water
Border Song
Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting

There are a lot, easily add 15-20 more from the 70's.

that one's almost as bad as a bon jovi song. Other ones are meh, typical EJ.

I would be the guy that doesn't like Tiny Dancer. Never really did it for me.

Earlier I thought I might take up the challenge of naming 15 Elton John songs I like better than I'm Still Standing - but it quickly became apparent that it was just be an exercise in listing all the EJ song titles I could remember. I like pretty much everything better than I'm Still Standing.

Tiny Dancer though - I was on the fence there. Ultimately decided that I do like it better but the separation was not significant enough to list it. Was going to take my list very seriously.

Also had some deep thoughts on Pinball Wizard.

But Tiny Dancer, yeah, can't say that I like it.

:dunno:

If I remember right, I'm Still Standing kind of led a resurgence to his career to the next generation via MTV. I don't mind the song, but he has so many classic songs. He and McCartney/Wings basically dominated radio from 70-76. Pinball Wizard, I'm kind of on the fence. If I never hear Don't Go Breaking My Heart again, I won't be disappointed.

Daniel and Yellow brick road are good.

I don't like any song with the word crocodile in it...that's gay.

Ba-Ba Benny and the....that gay...The whole....Ba-Ba....that's gay.

Candle in the Wind....after Princess Di....I just don't need it anymore.

Don't let the sun go down on me....I don't like to here gays say the words go down on me...that's real gay.

The way Phil-A-DELPHIA is broke up in Philadelphia freedom...that's gay.

I could go on and on...

I used to like all these songs..I think I just have heard them all to much. I can't listen to a lot of classic rock anymore either....for the same reason. Used to love love Pearl Jam, Metallica, STP....just heard it all to much.

I will listen to I'm still standin for the 500th time long before I will listen to Candle in the wind for the 5,000th.
