Muddy, do you have a favorite president fact or favorite obscure president?

I like Andrew Johnson, the man who followed Lincoln. Main reason: I know a guy named Andrew Johnson. We went to high school together and partied together a lot and did a lot of sports pools. I am still in contact with him sometimes.

His nickname is Junior.

In reverse order?

That was interesting. I just looked over at sporcle and they have a quiz about naming the presidents in reverse order. I never noticed that before. I have looked at the regular one quite a few times where it shows the dates of their terms and you can name them in any order.

Anyway, I did them in reverse order in about 2 minutes, only a little longer than it takes me to do them in order.

At the start of this post I said, "That was interesting," but perhaps that was an exaggeration.

Why did Andrew "Junior" Johnson take over from Lincoln anyway? Generally the vice-president takes over when a president dies in office. And I happen to know Lincoln's VP because he had quite a distinctive name. Hannibal Hamlin.

Why wasn't there a President Hamlin I wonder?

There's something I don't know. Seems like something I could probably look up on the internet though.
