Well your lucky, it won't stop snowing in the Northeast the last week or so.

I'm not complaining, I love to ski, so fresh snow is awesome. It does get bothersome waiting in line for 45 minutes at the liquor store.

RW, only good thing here for me is NO work today so all play! I like your priorities with getting the drink! Cold weather does create greater chance of alcoholics it appears just from your experience at the liquor store?

... BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EST TONIGHT... ... WINTER STORM WARNING IS CANCELLED...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY HAS ISSUED A BLIZZARD WARNING... WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EST TONIGHT. THE WINTER STORM WARNING HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

A COASTAL STORM DEVELOPING OFF THE CENTRAL MID ATLANTIC COAST BEFORE SUNRISE WILL INTENSIFY EXPLOSIVELY TODAY. SNOW... AS WELL AS SLEET AND EVEN SOME FREEZING RAIN NEAR... SOUTH... AND EAST OF PHILADELPHIA WILL CHANGE TO ALL SNOW DURING THIS MORNING AS THE STORM MOVES NORTHWARD. THIS WILL CAUSE WINDS TO BACK TO NORTHEAST AND NORTH AND BRING COLDER AIR INTO THE REGION. WITH HEAVY SNOW EXPECTED TO DECREASE VISIBILITIES... AND STRONG WINDS GUSTING TO 35 TO 45 MILES AN HOUR THIS AFTERNOON... BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED AT TIMES MAINLY FROM ABOUT MIDDAY AND THROUGH THE AFTERNOON... POSSIBLY PERSISTING INTO EARLY TONIGHT BEFORE TAPERING OFF. HOWEVER... WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO BE STRONG THIS EVENING SO THERE WILL BE PLENTY OF BLOWING SNOW WITH REDUCED VISIBILITIES AS WELL TONIGHT.

TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM 12 TO 22 INCHES INTO EARLY TONIGHT... WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS STRADDLING THE INTERSTATE 95 CORRIDOR.

NEAR-BLIZZARD OR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ARE RARE FOR OUR AREA... SO IT IS LIKELY THAT PEOPLE WILL NOT REALIZE THE PERIL THAT EXISTS IN VENTURING OUT IN SUCH STORMS. LIFE-THREATENING CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE... AND DRIVING WILL BE HAZARDOUS AT BEST DURING THIS WINTER STORM TODAY AND EARLY TONIGHT. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT TRAVEL BE CURTAILED DUE TO THE DANGEROUS CONDITIONS... AND ONLY DRIVE IF IT IS TRULY AN EMERGENCY SITUATION.

A BLIZZARD WARNING MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW WITH STRONG WINDS AND POOR VISIBILITIES ARE LIKELY. THIS WILL LEAD TO WHITEOUT CONDITIONS... MAKING TRAVEL EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. DO NOT TRAVEL. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL... HAVE A WINTER SURVIVAL KIT WITH YOU. IF YOU GET STRANDED... STAY WITH YOUR VEHICLE.

More Information

... WINTRY WEATHER LAST NIGHT WILL INTENSIFY TODAY AND CAUSE DANGEROUS CONDITIONS ESPECIALLY THIS AFTERNOON INTO EARLY TONIGHT...

.AN EXPLOSIVELY DEVELOPING NOR/EASTER WILL BRING HEAVY SNOW TO MUCH OF OUR AREA TODAY AND THIS EVENING... WITH BLIZZARD CONDITIONS EXPECTED FOR MANY AREAS.

OK folks I just got back from a little mid day skiing at out local, well about 3 miles away, ski slopes http://bcmountainresort.com/winter/. Where you can go online and see the conditions as the are today. It was pretty good, the blizzard conditions haven't really started yet, although we do have around 15 inches of snow that has fallen so far. I didn't want to leave, but I have to go back to work at 3:30 (trading stocks going into the close). I may go back if the wind doesn't come as they say it will later.

Here is a picture of today's snowfall amounts on my deck.

Yeah, it looks like work will have to wait tomorrow as well. It is still snowing like a bastard, and now the wind is kicking up. I posted the deck picture because it is most protected from the wind. The chimineya on the left is totally covered. Luckily I have a tractor with a plow attachement to plow out the drive way, but there is still 2 feet of it on the truck. tomorrow may be another ski day, because I don't think the snow plow will make it out to bum-f-ck-nowehere where I live.
