but at what point do some longer generational period peoples get "melted" into the Melting pot? when are your ethnicities watered down?

I feel like when Big Al and I have kids... they won't really have a claim to any country of origin.

my mother is an Irish Citizen and I claim Ireland. my other half is mostly german with a dash of polish and irish.

but Big Al is a Nordic and Dutch mix and i'm not even sure what we know from her Amish side..... that could go all the way back to the 15th or 16th century....
