Ok. answered door. Indian man who looks like guy in picture and has no top front teeth (at all) asks if this is the house where the treadmill needs taken apart and is so and so coming to do the job. I say yes and reiterate that I have to be out of here by 9:50 so hopefully he is on way. Guy says he will wait outside for friend who is taking bus. It's 34 degrees out there. I felt bad for letting him hang out outside but really didn't want him to come in and sit in living room (hide the silver!)

Seemed like a very nice guy. I asked if he would be ok out there, he said he'd be fine. This is awkward.
 
Ok...other guy rings door bell again says he is waiting for first guy ...says if I have power tools he can come in and start on it. I tell him I don't think there are tools here. I asked if he needed to use phone to call other guy..said he didn't know his number. I said I had it..he said he would take his bike down to see if if he was on his way..asked if I could give him 15 more minutes ...told me it shouldn't take too long...

update...both here ....making small talk ..seem friendly enough..unless it's a ruse .


p.s. It is DEFINITELY the sex offender guy.
 
Worst. Decision. Ever. Lori had negotiated $35. I was going to give them $50. Now that they have scratched up our flooring all to shit was going to go back to $35. Bad call ...not from safety issue but from the they had no idea what they were doing standpoint. Granted it was a gym model treadmill and probably should have been done by professionals. And Lori though her and I could do that. ha.!

I write a check for $50. Indian 1 takes it and runs out the door and leaves his friend to put this thing back together in basement. Guy #2 seems like good guy and remains reassembling in basement. IAG notes more dents in flooring (which is a million years old and needs to be replaced anyway so not THAT big of deal but annoying )as they were clearly not very careful. Doorbell rings again. Indian #1 is back thought his friend had left already. Both back in basement. I'm guessing it would have cost me $100 at least to have a mover do this but no price on peace of mind. Floor is disaster. Have not yet plugged back in to see if works. They are gone. Safe/nice enough but too careless. I was also thinking about them hurting their backs the whole time and having some type of homeowners ins claim. Lesson learned.
