I am currently employed as a bus driver, but I haven't been a full time bus driver since 1993.
In 2004 & 2005 I dabbled and drove part time for a company that runs the bus service from Toronto to Casino Rama. The wages were shit and I did it for fun as I got to spend 6 hours at the casino and get a few bucks for driving the bus.
My main job was as a ready mix driver, you know, "cement trucks" ?
I also drove tractor-trailer locally for A&P Dominion, now known as Metro.
I was laid off late in 2008 from the concrete company I drove for and fucked around the last couple of years. I originally came to Saskatchewan in Sept/Oct last year looking for work as a ready mix truck driver, the job I was interested in was filled so I left a resume at the bus company at the camp site and they contacted me first so I took the gig. Remember when I was posting from various places out in Western Canada last year? I was out here looking for work, its impossible NOT to get a job out here nowadays, the place is booming with no end in sight, I've been told that Saskatchewan has larger oil reserves than Alberta which means more jobs will be created in the future.
I will stay here as long as possible, I was earning over $27 an hour driving the ready mix truck in Toronto, out here they make $31 and are non unionized, in Toronto 99% of ready mix drivers are Teamsters.
I posted this for Bread, he thought I was a bus driver before I actually became one.
