in general they always to like to push that people get radicalized, there's always a greater force, dark and evil catching the youth praying on the innocent. the group must always be portrait as fearsome, huge in numbers, logistics, wealth, arms, capabilities, that can attack anywhere and anytime. they must create a face and body to the enemy, the greater it is the more you (the people) must rally against it. with self radicals you don't have these propagandist elements.
