When I first moved to Toronto in 1988, that strip along Bloor Street had the most amazing family type Hungarian restaurants Matty. There would be gypsy bands playing on Sunday nights and you could get huge trays of assorted (mostly meat) food. There would be schnitzel, pork sausage, bacon etc. Tons of goulash soup and Massive doggie bags.

“My memories of Ed’s are from when we used to live in Parkdale with my parents. There were six kids and my mom used to take us to Honest Ed’s. Back in the day, in the ‘70s’, you had to come here to buy clothing, and Honest Ed’s was a place to basically buy anything. This guy Ed, he was like for the people. For Christmas, he used to come out and give out turkeys to hundreds and hundreds of people. So, everybody remembers Honest Ed’s. Anybody that you talk to, they know what Honest Ed was all about. We understand in our time now that things are changing, so this place has got to go because it’s an old place. It just brings back memories of back in the ‘70s when we first came to this country (from Portugal.) We talked about it (being for sale) today and thought, let’s go downtown to Ed’s.”

Saw this today at Honest Ed's... almost bought it for Mudcat but I'm not positive that he owns a DVD player, or a TV that has an IR receiver.

It's a mere 8 inches wide. Would look great next to your telephone, Mud.
