Costa Rica Gambling License, Poker Licenses, Sportbook Licence, Lottery, Gaming Licences in Costa Rica

It is permitted for businesses to conduct this activity in Costa Rica but you will need:

A Costa Rican Corporation

Registration with the tax authorities - Administracin Tributaria
*

A commercial license, which we obtain from the local government authorities

Smitchy many suckers, mainly American wanna be bubble gum bookmakers, have fallen for the Costa Rican gaming license scam.
 
I heard TSop has a Costa Rican gaming license, in anticipation of moving playtheseodds.com offshore.

In September 2007, the Partido Accion Ciudadana introduced a bill that would tax sports books and other electronic betting operations based on the number of employees on their payroll. The annual tax begins at firms with 10 employees with a fee of 10 million colons a year and reaches the top of the scale with a tax of 28.4 million colons for companies with more than 61 employees.

Not long ago government has introduced a new law for obtaining an online gaming license. The new license clearly states “internet gaming” as the licensed business activity. It takes 1-2 months to process the license and have it registered.

The cost for the Costa Rican corporation and license is $15,000 compared to €60,000 -€100,000 to in many other countries. Once you have the license, it is €1000 or $1,500 USD every three months to keep it active.

MEIC is a Ministro. How can I compare it so you can understand... its like a Department in the US, like Department of Education, Department of Homeland Security etc,.

Branches under it serves to tax businesses, foment growth, public safety, regulations etc,.

The so call "data processing" or "data center" license is a license granted by a branch under MEIC which was developed to regulate "internet" companies, be it whatever activity they do, back then when the internet was in its infancy. Because internet is a communication medium, and you understand every single country in the world regulates communication, they developed that. Its not a gaming license. Because nationals are not permitted to gamble, it is not require to operate a book.



The email link is a link to the Gibraltar regulation body and has nothing to do with Costa Rica, different country way on the other side of the Atlantic. In the south of Spain, a British over seas territory.

I'm not updated to how much that license cost now a days.

They are taxed normally. Many, many times they have tried to introduced special rules for gaming corps but they always end up shot down, they never make it into law.
 
"Licensed in Costa Rica" is intentionally vague by the sportsbooks.

"Licensed in Australia" is preferred.
