Im not sure how I will develop my case. But I do know that somewhere in my close I will utter the words:
"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, the prosecution has painted my client as an animal, as a sexual deviant of the highest order, as a criminal committing heinous sex acts with boys and girls who he unsuspectingly recruited from the hallways of the very schools our own children walk. They described the salacious details of how my client allegedly mixed child and insect in a depraved act of pure sexual ecstasy all the while with wanton disregard for the well being of the worlds future leaders, many of who were beholden to his position of authority.
Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I ask you to consider here today a situation, a set of circumstances, an alternate reality. I ask you this today not because I know the answer or because I am here representing my client but because I truly do not know the answer. I ask you to consider this scenario because you have been charged with the greatest responsibility 12 men and woman can have.
Consider for a moment, that the acts my client allegedly engaged in were not the acts depicted by the prosecution. CONSIDER FOR A MOMENT, the acts so demonized by our fair cities district attorney Johnson and consider that these acts might not have been the lewd, depraved and utterly disgusting acts they appear to be. It would behoove us to consider, if just for a moment, that a beautiful and gentle, and infinately personal love CAN be shared between a man, an insect and a child. Thoug we may fully understand it, there is not a single soul in this courtroom who would fathom justifying actions taken in their own bedroom, or local school setting, to the rest of the world. Not you Honorable judge Sneiderman, not you Distric Attorney Johnson, not me and not you, ladies and gentleman of the jury.
I implore you. When you retire to that deliberation room and you consider the charges against my client, please ask yourself if my client is guilty, arent we all?
