Haha, true. Many of the poorer big cities in Mich are doing this. the unions are pissed, can't blame em.

I wouldn't have a guess at how many people could afford to retire. much less than Daft thinks though. Pretty sad and it's something I think about every day.

I put more $$$ in my kids savings accts then I put in my own various savings accts
maybe I need to start a retirement fund instead of making sure my kids have a nice chunk to get started in the real world
health and life insurance are also on the agenda:eyes:
 
You either have health or life insurance but not both. If you have health insurance you are not to going to die young and don't need life insurance and if you have life insurance and die young because you don't have health insurance you get paid when you die.
 
Ok..if you plan on living another 50 years you need health insurance. That will cost you at least $300,000 in premiums without accounting the inflation.

if you plan living another 25 years only get a life insurance. It's cheaper and when you die your kids will get something back.

I contribute bi-weekly to FL Pre-Pay college fund.

Both my critters will have 4 year college tuition and local fees paid when they get out of high school.

And $15/$20K in a 529 for books/dorms etc

That's a helluva lot more than I got after I grabbed that useless diploma.

i can get citizenship here in a year but what do i want with a colombian passport. the number of countries they can go without a visa is now at like 9.

i cant imagine nicaragua being too much better
