I see people like this every day. Walking the streets, pushing a cart with groceries, sitting alone in the park, feeding birds, riding the subway for something to do. Sometimes you see the same sorry old lady at the same time and place every day for years then suddenly she's no longer there. "Well, I guess she's dead" I think to myself right before the Hispanic guy at the deli yells at me to take my order. Don't worry, there'll be another old person, maybe someday it'll be me.

I have to admit, Xmas in Vegas was odd. No family there did put me in a melancholy mood to say the least.
