We are all such creatures of habit, especially as we get older. Do you have a coffee mug that is YOURS? I have two mugs that are MINE and when we have company, I cringe if somebody else grabs one of them. But you can't say to them, that's MINE! Grab one of the plain white coffee mugs that are for YOU.

Growing up, we used to fight over what cups/glasses we drank out of. We were assigned glasses by Mom. My glass is still at my parents' house and I saw that my brother's girlfriend was using it. I snatched it and told her that she's not allowed to use it. I wish that I was joking.

In terms of mugs, I have one mug that I love. It's a ridiculous Cat in the Hat mug that I use for morning coffee. Since I was living alone, it's not an issue. At the boyfriend's house, I was always grabbing a certain mug (because it's bigger). Thankfully, he really doesn't care about things like that. Now, that we've combined everything, if he touches my Cat in the Hat mug, there might be war.

That's why all my mugs and glasses are always in a cupboard, if I have company and they want a drink they have to ask and I will get it for them. Not a fan of people helping themselves to whatever in my house.

for those that watch Duck Dynasty...that blue ice tea cup that Si carries with him everywhere (think he actually has 2 or 3 of them), we had those exact cups when i was a kid...i think made by tupperware... my dad said they got them right after my brother was born(late 60s) and i can remember drinking out of them up til the time we moved when i was starting college 92'...

i read were Si's mom sent them to him when he was in vietnam...can you imagine drinking out of the same few cups for over 50 yrs???:boo:

I don't think it's an age thing. Growing up, we were always "assigned" things - towels, mugs, cups, seats, days we could choose the tv shows that were watched. I guess it has just translated to adulthood.

No, I had a fever and I couldn't stop coughing. I spent the day on the couch covered in blankets. I tried unpacking later in the evening and ended up back on the couch after overheating (in 50 degree weather).
