Gotta say - and I don't know whom here I may be offending when I say this - but I find myself more and more disgusted with cigarette smoking.

There is no other word for it. It's disgusting.

It has been driven home for me recently because I have been watching some DVD's that have a lot of close-ups of people smoking. They look so idiotic. They got this burning thing in their hand which is damp on one end and then they stick it in their mouth and contort their face and suck this pointless smoke through their yellow teeth into their lungs and blow it out. For what? Ugh!

I don't even care that much that it shortens people's lives. If people want to shorten their lives, that's none of my business. But it's just such a gross, pointless way to do it.

As I say, don't know whom I might be offending. Sorry. I used to smoke cigarettes so one finger is pointing back at me. I can't pretend to have no idea how it can happen. But I've been watching these videos with these close-ups and they are really disgusting me.
 
I've smoked less then 50 in my life.

I felt pretty cool doing it....... I was very drunk so peeing in a convertible somtimes felt very cool too.

I think it looks cool though. when others do it..... gotta disagree there
 
That video of the chick sounding like a lamb and then barking like a dog reminded me of just how nasty cigarettes are. She was also holding the cigarette in a really awkward LOOK AT ME kind of way too.

I used to smoke too and I'm really pissed at myself for having done so.

I also smoked a few dozen clove cigs in college on the roof of the dorm.


ironically, in 6th grade I got a very lucrative position as a bingo caller for 3 catholic churches in my hometown....

I made 50 bucks a night for 3 separate nights, plus tips from winners......

I was a very rich kid for 3 years. it paid for alot of college.

I gave it all up though in 9th grade when I became prolific in the distance running world.

I figure I was inhaling the equivalent of 4 packs each night I worked.

when I came home I literally had to wash and dunk my eyeballs in the sink after a shower. they were so filled with smoke.

you could smell my clothes from 20 feet away.

I was a great bingo caller though
 
people addicted to nicotine don't disgust me any more than people addicted to other things. former smoker myself, seek out smokers on some of my trips to beer joints just to get some of their 2nd-hand while i'm drinking.
 
I saw the same thing in that vid daft. The way she was holding it was uncomfortable to me.

As for the description of smoking that muddy has I ask, can't anything be described in such a way to highlight the disgusting aspect? Not a knock on how you feel or how you described it, but if you zoom in close enough on any human action itsnt it disgusting? Eating comes to mind.

As an occasional smoker I must say I love the entire process, maybe its just the nicotine talking but I find it extremely enjoyable.
 
I guess I should add that when I used to smoke, I really enjoyed it while I was drinking. In fact, I only smoked when I was drinking. But I would always hate myself in the morning for sucking in all that toxic shit.

In the morning I would be annoyed that I did it and my thought process was exactly how Muddy described

never smoked a cig in my life (or weed, ironically)... i just cant stand the smell and i have these horrible flashbacks to taking long trips with my parents chain smoking with the windows in the car barely cracked and it grosses me out to think about it... plus, ever since i almost blew up my house when i was 10, me and fire dont get along at all....

as far as kissing a smoker goes, a couple of my ex's smoked when drinking, but were smart enough to throw in some gum when they were around me...

with all the liquor i chug, shit ive shoved up my nose and hallucinogens ive eaten, its amazing that i never got into smoking... i understand its a habit, so no biggie when it comes down to my friends who love it...im sure i do plenty of shit that grosses them out too...haha

btw, banning smoking inside most places is the best law ever passed imo!

I gotta agree with that. Society is definitely going in the right direction pushing that shit to the fringes.



The case of lamb girl with the cigarette was also on my mind when I started this thread. Plus there was a plommer vid of the Cuban (?) girl dancing while holding a cigarette. My gut reaction is not a lot different than if they had dogshit on them. Okay not dogshit exactly but I see that cigarette and it's like ewwww.

Are there still people who attach coolness to smoking? I guess so but for me it is just ewwww.

I was using nicotine gum the last 3 weeks before that pic.

it was a 8 or 12 week shape up contest between a few other beer fattened meat head friends.

I feel the nicotine really helped me win
