Congratulations on making it to church for the first time in so long, Durito! I just got back from Mass as well, and since the Catholic liturgy is uniform, I feel reasonably certain in saying that the Gospel reading will be the story of Doubting Thomas which is the origin of the popular benediction "Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.

Put away the phone and enjoy the service; nobody does Church music like the Latinos, and it's the only time you'll be encouraged to sing as loud as you want even if you can't carry a tune in a bucket!

If you end up chatting with the priest after the service, you can always ask him about his views on liberation theology, a hot-button topic within the Church down in Latin America. Have a great time Durito and may the peace of Christ be with you and your family today.

Oh no RS, I was beginning to think we were siblings, long heart felt paragraphs, the same top pet peeve. But it sounds like your a fan of Jesus. My heart is broken. I hate that guy....well not really that guy but his whole "deal". Why has thou forsaken me RS.

I am so opposed to religion that I will actively not shop at any business that touts itself as being Christian owned. Andy has a sticker on our car that depicts Jesus is goalie pads catching a puck. It says Jesus Saves. It irks me that I know people think I'm a Christian because they don't look beyond the text. Mr. X finds this amusing.

Please say it isn't so. Unbreak my heart RS.

This is more my speed. Next week I will sit in the park outside the church. I'm not so sure why it's so necessary to take the baby to the church anyway, she slept through the whole thing. Wish I could have.

I get that people want to be together and be safe and have a community but, just do that. Why bring fairy tales into it. I know it's easier when you have a rallying point but why not just stick with things you are pretty sure you know about.

I think to be a Christian, or insert any god based religion means that you're mentally/emotionally lazy to varying degrees.

Not saying that I don't understand the reasons why or that I'm the poster girl for mental/emotional strength. It's just disappointing when I see this in myself and others.

But I'm kind of a hard ass like that.
