Here is a chance to voice your opinion by signing the following petition in support of Bill C290 to allow single event wagering in Canada.

600 additional supports are required – so take a few minutes to add your name to the growing sports betting community.

"Passing this bill will allow Canadians to place single-event sports wagers in a legal and regulated manner.

The unregulated, illegal sports betting industry is already accepting single-event wagers and this is not in the best interest of Canadians. Passing this bill will ensure the funds are kept in the provinces to benefit everyone through healthcare, education and community programs.

Regulating single-event bets also ensures there are checks and balances in place to protect players and address the concerns raised by professional sports leagues. By not supporting Bill C-290, the Senate is encouraging players to continue turning to illegal gambling in Canada to meet their needs."

If I was a Canadian I would sign it for you.

I support Bill C-290. We need a regulated gambling industry that has the checks and balances in place to protect players and the professional sports leagues from illegal activity.

The majority of sports bets are done through off-shore unregulated web sites and illegal betting operations. Through the lack of support for this bill you are actually supporting illegal gambling in Canada because this...

Through the lack of support for this bill you are actually supporting illegal gambling in Canada because this is where players have turned to meet their needs. This is unfortunate. Pass Bill C-290.

There is a big construction project going on at the Woodbine Racetrack backstretch road, sign says constuction will complete in 2014!

Dunno what it is but it's big.

the resistance is useless and there's no way to resist it 🎶

gambling/ sportsbooking coming everywhere.

Not to California. Card rooms and Indians won't share the pie so no one gets to eat. Fucking useless. Killing online poker in America, too.

has to get approve in the Senate?
It will be, it's just a formality.

Its nice that its federal legislation so it applies from Newfoundland to British Columbia, not a patchwork of different jurisdictions ie states with other ideas and different laws.

Sports gambling will be legal nationwide in Canada in a couple of months, Caesars Windsor will definitely be busier once it starts. I'll probably end up visiting the casino more than the 2 or 3 times a year I currently visit.

Having said that I'll still bet with Pinnacle as they will have better prices. The casino will be a place to hit and run, bet a game and cashout etc.
I'd also be much more comfortable betting long term props at Caesars. Won't sweat a payout holding a team total or championship ticket until the end of the year.

Also nice that there is no UIGEA and Pinnacle and others will still be able to take bets from Canadian IP addresses.

I've noticed there are tons of sports betting commercials on the Detroit TV stations, rlentless advertising. I thought American lawyers advertised a lot. The new Michigan sportsbooks are running ads 24/7.
