MrMonkey, simply explain to MrsMonkey that betting/gambling is merely a form of stress relief. That if you didn't have gambling to get your frustrations out then eventually those little things like ALWAYS putting the seat down, taking out the garbage, mowing the lawn, changing the oil, replacing the AC filters, cleaning the gutters and the rest of life's mundane chores would get the best of you and you would snap.

When she looks at it from this perspective she'll probably give you a little extra of your hard earned money to further your stress relief therapy.
