mrqunicy, just reading thread you did everything possible in being fair bout the situation! Even when your in the right so much AGG when involved in an accident! Bravo and job well done MRQ! He might not want the change in appearance but mrquincy IMO should read MrQunicy! I have an eye for these things!

I have talked to my insurance adjustor and my car is in the shop now getting an estimate.I am told that the other company is responsible and now all I need to get is their insurance information. CATCH is the FOKKERS won't return my calls now. I called the company today and the person I have to talk to was 'in a meeting'.LIKE FOK!

I guess my next step is to call the police and see what they have to say about it.

Finally some fucking progress. The owner of the company that hit me finally called me today. As it turns out, the employees tried to hide the accident from the owner. He was very surprised to find out that one of his fleet was in an accident.

Also, I finally got my official damage estimate; $4051; The blue book value for my car is only $4200; so technically it is a write off. If everything goes my way, I will get some sort of cash settlement from their insurance company. I can make up the rest and I will have a basically brand new looking car.

I now have my insurance adjustor chasing the company that hit me... We shall see what tomorrow brings for MrQuincy....

I would love to have heard the discussion the boss of the company had with the person who is responsible for the vehicle that hit me.. It probably happened sometime this afternoon once the boss was informed.

FOKKRS

I was toying with the idea of getting a new car the last couple of days, but it just does not make sense at this point. My ole 2003 Elantra has 100 000 miles on it. For this model of Hyundai that is just broken in. To this car I have personally:

put on +/- 60 000 of those miles
done all the scheduled maintenance
just put new rubber on it
have separate rims and snow tires
installed bumper hitch, trailer wiring hookup w/ bike rack
plus it is a 4 door hatch back that has a stupid amount of cargo space; i can fit major appliance in the back.

There is no way in hell that I am going to be able to replace this vehicle for less than 10-15k; and even if I do, I am inheriting someone's used vehicle. In my opinion, even if I had to pay 5-6k to fix my car, I would be way ahead at the end of the day...

Some good news. I called the police today at the accident reporting centre. My timing was perfect. I was expecting an answering machine but a live police officer answered the phone and was immediately on the case. He asked me about my family name, and we exchanged pleasantries for about 5 minutes....then... The officer told me that the other vehicle has not yet reported the accident, and if they don't soon, that they will go pay the company or the driver a visit and charge them with failing to report the accident.

It is boding well for me because the police have already phoned them once supposedly...

For the record, in my 43 years....this will be the first time in my life I'm on the right side of the law and for once the police are going to help me and not be looking to bust my punk ass.... :megaman::megaman::megaman::megaman::megaman:
