I'm ok with what goes for

The box was $450 including tax so it almost doesn't matter

Rec'd one more box today ($400 w/tax off eBay)

Got a Roki Sasaki Green Parallel Auto

Not as good obviously but not horrible
A few other numbered cards as well

Decent.

These boom or bust prospects are interesting.

Could make a case to sell now, this could easily be the highest his stock ever is. The power is obviously real, but we've seen lots of guys have historic months and go on to have whatever careers.

OR he could be a legit mega-star, not to mention Japanese market, and this could be worth a kajillion dollars someday.

You being rich af can just hold because who cares, but would be a tough spot for many collectors I think.
 
Guys I think we should form a cartel and corner some markets on rookie autos.

I think if we collectively deploy $2-3k we could amass 33-50% of numbered autos (/25 - /150) for Topps flagship (Series 1 or Series 2 or Update) for 3-5 rookies who are likely to end with between 1-2 bWAR. Then hold for two more years. 1-2 will be 4+ bWAR players, 1-2 will be 0 bWAR or back in the minors and the others (1-3) will remain as 1-2 bWAR.

The former group we should be able to 5x-10x if we stay disciplined and fix the prices. The middle group is worthless and the latter group is 1/2x.

People have tried it, actually all the way back to the 50’s.

I despise the Bowman brand, that is all boom/bust. It’s also the opposite of how I collect. There is money to be made in it, but you have to realize that 9/10 will fail. That doesn’t mean money cant be made, built the timing is harder to gage.
