Political extremism is a mental disorder. And I agree, it is on full display.
I agree. Imagine riding naked down the street to protest ICE. You can't make it up. And I'll remark, as extremist as that is, I'm trying to find something similar on the other side. You know, in groups, like Antifa, or shooting people in public you don't agree with. Coming up a bit short though. Something of similar consequence.

I mean, would the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers who stormed the Capitol on January 6 not qualify? Let's say they'd gotten their hands on Pence or Pelosi or a number of congressmen, you are confident it doesn't get violent?

Dave, don’t be such a simp.

Beating up capital police officers and storming the capital is not nearly as unhinged radical looney as riding your bike naked in protest
It was 5 years ago so it doesn't matter Tron. Play by your own rules pal.

Again, no one got a hold of Pelosi, that's not reality. It's purely hypothetical.

Okay cool, just the non-hypothetical then. I think this is "something similar".

vikingguy at the capital

I'd also say I'm not oblivious to ring wing extremist groups. They've become much more popular and it's a problem. There was political violence from the right earlier this year (Minnesota). It exists. What I'm trying to say, and I think the facts back it up, is that recently there have been more instances of left wing violence that was motivated either by a political ideology or what "side" a group/person is on (social justice issues come to mind). Social justice issues tend to be the heart of the Democrat platform and have been for some time.

So yes, obviously there has been a clear rise in extreme left violence recently. I'd argue Trump's extremely divisive nature has played a role in that. Zero excuse, and I know you jumped all over Kato for saying it, but hate leads to hate.

But yeah, if you want to talk facts, there's a much longer and more consistent history of right wing extremist violence. Against LGBT, minorities, etc. The numbers speak for themselves.

And the dip in 2025 makes sense, too. The guy they wanted in office is in office. Makes sense they'd be content at the moment, no?
