If they’re not in the World Series in a few years, I’ll be shocked… And extremely disappointed…

I love talking sports. I’m a diehard Pittsburgh Pirates Fan and a lot of us aren’t left. I have a hatred towards the current organization and ownership, however they have so much talent it’s incredible. Players I mean. Up here and in the minors…
You should follow LSU baseball and Dylan Crews this spring. Crews should be the Pirates pick in the draft.

Dude, they don't spend enough money to compete. Loved them back in the early 70's. Could field a 9 man black/hispanic lineup when he was on the mound.

Guys like Al Oliver, Rennie Stennett, Manny S was my fav! Guy could get hits swinging at foot off the plate pitches.

Im on Perdue winning it all
They have the Giant but think guard play could hurt them. Athletic Memphis could give them problems and surging Duke has two bigs to contend with him.

I could see teams like Texas and UConn winning. Bama and Houston appear the strongest but is the Houston guard healthy enough? Stevie's Zona a hit or miss risk but have good path to Final Four.

Memphis is athletic and playing well. Problem with them is if they are in a close game, they will fold like a cheap suit. The team has a combined IQ of 76 and their coach has a proven track record of not getting the most out of his players in crunch time

Perdue has a big man with excellent court presence. His big flaw is free throw shooting. That said, this team is built for close games.

They definitely need pitching like everyone else. I was really hoping they would have pursued Kumar instead of a catcher. However, great backstops are tough to come by. Will definitely check into that…

On another note, LSU should be very strong this year. Difficult not seeing them in Omaha come June…

Thank You, My Friend!

I respect your opinion, however I think their guard play will be exposed. I think they’re one of the most overrated teams in recent history.

SS, wasn't even going to play a bracket this year and just root for my favs. Then son told me last all his friends weren't interested so no need to do. Thinking Duke (HOT team) could of went far so glad not having to pick them going deep into it. KU fan so don't think they will go far so don't have to ruin my pool taking them.

SS, here's an interesting couple stats regarding past champs I heard ....

I like going to kenpom.com for stats. You have two team stats being Adjusted Offensive and Defensive team Efficiency%. The last 5 years champs have ranked #22 or below in both categories. These teams have that this year ....
Bama
Houston
Texas
UConn

Second one last 21 out of 22 years champions total for both categories have ranked last than #49 (ex. 3 + 45, 22 +26) These teams have those totals ....
Bama 22 (19+3)
Houston 15 (11+4)
Texas 29 (18+11)
UCLA 25 (24+1)
UConn 25 (6+19)
Purdue 32 (9+23)
Kansas 36 (29+7)
Arizona 46 (42+4)
Creighton 42 (27+15)
St Mary's 48 (39+9)
Tenneessee 49 (47+2)

Bama and Houston numbers show the most balanced teams combined stats. Bama tougher schedule though. From what I saw this year plus two play-in games previous nights much more physical play is being allowed. Maybe favors muck-it-up solid defenses over highly ranked offensives?

Just some other notes on higher seeds ....
Gonzaga #1 O and #76 D
Marquette #7 and #47
Baylor #2 and #105
Duke #41 and #26
Virginia #75 and #25
Xavier #8 and #74
Indiana #28 and #43
Kansas St #52 and #20
