7PM on a Saturday is not ideal TV time for the Tronster!!!! Hahaha
Fortunately a run like that was going to be magical to watch live or on replay.

Sorry to Boner and the resident GL'ers that got crushed. Very impressive trip from a pure horse racing perspective. But as Casper said, devastating result for real horse players.

Saw it live, for MrsM Triple Crown races are a must see. As a kid her mom, and two uncles would drag her and her sister down to AC (too often she says) for afternoons of racing. Really low end gambler crew on her mom's side.

From what I gather the horses went out too fast of a pace and the fav died at the end more than the 80-1 winning it? I know winner started in. 20th post but supposedly ran along the rail almost the entire race? :dunno:

Have to hear detailed observations from the Caspers and Boners here about that.

Watching the race, you knew most of the field was stalking. At the 3/4s I knew the front runner wasn’t going to win. I really thought the 10 had a great trip, but just couldn’t kick it into that next gear.

Watching the 21 from that aerial camera view is really cool

It sucks some Gamelivers lost money but is there anything better in ALL SPORTS than a 80-1 winning the Derby?

All good. I've stepped away from the ledge. I still wouldn't pick that horse in 1,000,000 tries.

Great story for sure, super awesome for the connections who have put in the time. Also glad to be a bit distracted from the doping scandals of recent years, at least for now.

On to the next one.

Much admiration for the connections of the winner. Claiming a horse from Calumet farm for a meagre $30k, after all the work has been done to get the hoss to the races etc. Small timers from Ohio. I'm very familiar with the rider Sunny Leone as I bet Ohio track, Mahoning in winter and Thistle in summer. Been to Thistledown a handful of times in the 90's.

This is a great horse story, I mean the little guy winning a race where multi billionaire owners spend millions on horses to win this race and a claimer actually wins it.

Another KD winner not riunning the Preakness. These effing horses are like professional athletes these days .... pusses.
:tully:
