Yeah the name is not what I'd have chosen.

Vandelay has a 2yo colt a winner by daylight. Doesn't get much better than that.

Magical Effing Mousse would be a lot better.

I hoped it would go off at ML odds lol. Congrats buddy!!!!

Yeah. Because the 60% owner is a microshare partnership group these horses tend to pull major money by the partners and their friends/families. Doesn't matter @ Monmouth or Laurel or Gulfstream, but at a place like DE when the total WPS pool is $48,602 a bunch of small betters can really skew the odds.

Honestly you could probably hunt this groups starters and get great odds on the other more deserving horses.

MM ran the best thorograph figure for a 2yo male in the mid Atlantic region (DE, NJ, MD, VA, PA) so far this year. Thorograph is just a composite figure that attempts to reduce a horses performance to a single number. He also came out of the race in great shape. Lotta horses get banged up (internally and externally) after a race.

Sentiment about what's next is starting to get pretty lofty. Stay tuned boys.

Is that different from a Bayer(?) figure?

Beyer, yeah. It's just a different one (so obviously we use it because it's fits out story of him being best in the region). Uses other weighting and factors than Beyer or equibase/brisnet figure.

Maybe I'll be in KY in May...

Kentucky GL Bash.

Booked and confirmed.

What was his Beyer on the win?

If you're a part owner do they let you in the derby clubhouse for free? Wow, this is gonna blow Dave's poker staking shenanigans out of the water

He ran a 65. Very respectable first Beyer (3yo+ stakes winners will be 90+).

@reno cool without a doubt as a 20% partner. There might be up to 80 micro share partners on the syndicated 40% (and there's 2 other 20% shares, one is the managing partner). Dunno what happens to them if we make the big time re: clubhouse.

Also - every 5th race the jock will be wearing my silks. Should line up with one of the triple crown races if he makes it.

If you are in Kentucky for the Derby, I PROMISE I'll be there.

Next up for my stable is sale of a weanling colt out of the mare I own 10% of. This happens on Tuesday (end of day) at Keenland:
