I did something smart. I started watching a movie - I had seen about 10 minutes - and I discovered it is a Tim Burton movie. I didn't realize that when I decided to record it.

So I could have thought, 'Aw shit, I am already into it - I guess I'll watch it now.' Only to get through it and feel like I do after so many Tim Burton movies - i.e. - why did I do that?

But no, I aborted.

Smart.
 
Well okay, the answer to my guess what is: there is a third season of Letterkenny. Another 6 episodes.

My one comment at this point is: it starts off extremely lame. I feel like season 2 may also have had some similar lameness right at the start - a rapidfire alliteration thing - but season 3's goes on an incredibly long time.

Anyway, after they get through it - the whole damn alphabet - the show goes back to normal.

It's stupid and the premise remains thin but there are some laughs.

I haven't got into any tv series' in a really long time. Movie options out right night are lackluster so maybe I should try a new series foe me and Mrs mcb. Any suggestions?

I don't know Mrs. McB at all - and I'm not totally sure of your tastes - but here are some comments I made about some recently watched TV:

Better Call Saul (season 3) - as discussed, I am just a notch off from total commitment due to prequel issues. Very good though. 7.3 out of 10.

Genius (season 1) - this look at the life of Albert Einstein was just flat-out good. Interesting and educational - even a bit inspirational at times. I am very glad to know the great man better. Season 2 will be Pablo Picasso and I will be watching. 7.9 out of 10 for the Einstein series.

Fargo (season 3) - I liked it okay. I'd rank it as better than season 1 but not as good as 2. The brand is consistent - absurd but kinda fun. David Thewlis is a hoot. 6.3 out of 10.[/QUOTE]



Other than that, I thought The Knick was an excellent little 2 season masterpiece. Do not watch while eating though, is my recommendation.


I thought season 1 of The Crown was very good.

Master of None's Season 2 was a lot better than Season 1. Aziz has developed some writing and directing chops. I'm impressed.

I was not as impressed. I landed at the same place for season 2 as season 1. Thumbs up but I probably won't go looking for season 3. It will have to find me. I thought there were some points where the writing was better and even reminded me of Louie at times - so that's some high praise - but then other times I just found it tedious.

I still love the best friend character and remember him fondly from Tom Goes to the Mayor.

The first episode ran last week - but I missed it - but fortunately the local channel carrying it - F/X - always runs the previous week's episode along with the new one - so I'm grabbing them both tonight.

Will probably check out Ep01 tomorrow with dinner. I hope we're onto something good.

As I expected, Elisabeth Moss is nominated for an Emmy - best lead actress in a drama series. She's facing some stiff competition though - Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld) and that chick who played Queen Elizabeth in The Crown. Are odds out on this stuff yet? I'm intrigued.
