Ok...well I just read the article. They are not requiring them to have rape insurance. If they want to have an abortion covered, they have to have a separate rider like you need for jewelry on a home owners policy. You are not required to have it. It looks like the law (which has already passed) is more directly aimed at the insurance companies.

Still bullshit. Now women have to spend extra money for coverage in case they get raped?
I mean I never insurance did cover abortions for any reason....but dude.
 
I would imagine there are options for women in this situation. My guess is there are doctors or private organizations like Planned Parenthood that would subsidize them.

I suppose there is a risk also of women falsely claiming rape just to get it paid for.

I'm definitely pro-choice, but I don't see this as that big of a deal I guess. I haven't put that much thought into it. I suppose the victim of any other violent crime gets their medical care paid for so to that extent it makes no sense and is not fair. How many abortions that stem from rape are done in Michigan each year? Did the article say that? It may have, I may have missed it.

To be honest, I can't remember for the life of me if I am a registered as a republican or democrat...I want to say democrat...I considered libertarian at one point.

I I see you as having more democratic views. I honestly don't remember if I am registered an R or Independent...I believe the diff is you can't vote in the primary if you are registered independent.

I am moving to the left as I get older. That's where I started...then I went to the Right. I think I'm somewhere left of center right now. just barely.
