If any of you Yanks want to know what trap hockey is (Neutral Zone Trap) just tune into the Canada vs Latvia game for a classic example of a weak team playing the trap to keep it's hopes alive.

That's why I hated this team! But was successful when you have an ace goalie and other team loses patience!

I guess I hated the Devils cause the trap beat the Flyers so many times! Unreal! Flyers shot-on-goal game totals would be like 15-20 at times! So frustrating and boring!
 
Were Brodeur's numbers padded by the trap? I would say so.

Haven't tuned in to now but with Latvia playing the trap the Canadians have a ton of shots! Goalie must be playing great?
 
He is. But you can't take penalties here. bad call actually

Ton of shots, but not quality scoring chances.
 
Pucky - do you think Americans do not know what a neutral zone trap is?
 
Not all Americans FW. Just the casual hockey follower. Most cannot spot the trap forming at all. Most don't even know what it is. The trap is a despicable form of D. It should be outlawed and called a 2 minute delay of game minor.

The casual US fan is at work and has no idea where Latvia is, let alone care about a trap. This game will not be shown on delay here either.

I do agree with you about the trap, just horrible. It's the only chance less-talented teams have of winning.
